2016 – Enerco Group Support StreetSport

Aberdeen based charity, Denis Law Legacy Trust – Streetsport, has received a two-year sponsorship package worth £30,000 from local entrepreneurial investment firm Enerco Group Ltd.

The charity, which carries out over 700 free weekly sports and creative activity sessions for young people, has been given this significant boost as it continues its work to combat anti-social behaviour throughout the city.

Enerco's contribution will be used to help support the salaries of the staff running the Streetsport programme whilst the Enerco team will work closely with Streetsport over the next 2 years providing support and mentoring to underpin their various prevention programmes.

The programme continues to grow in some of the most deprived areas of Aberdeen where mobile activity arenas are deployed directly into local communities and operate during peak times of anti-social behaviour.

Mark Williams, Streetsport’s development officer, welcomed Enerco’s involvement with their project. He said: “This fantastic support from Enerco will help Streetsport enhance its prevention programmes even further. It will also aid participants on our employability programmes to receive high level guidance and mentoring from a successful local company. This is great news for the young people we are helping towards their own positive destination in life.”

Enerco Chairman and CEO Jamie Bennett said "we were impressed by what has already been achieved by Streetsport and we are pleased to support and be involved with this initiative, which can make a real difference in the local community”.
